Chapter Relations Handbook

Types of probation:

International Probation
• Member must attend all mandatory AOII functions
• Member must complete two additional community service hours
• Member is considered "not in good standing" and will not be allowed to vote or have a voice during chapter meetings
• Probation periods usually lasting 30, 60, or 90 days long

Social Probation
• Members may not attend any social functions planned by AOII (includes but does not limit to date dashes and exchanges)
• Member must attend all mandatory AOII functions
• Member must complete 2 additional community service hours
• Additional creative disciplines:
o volunteering with women's transit
o volunteering in the ER
o do a ride-along with a cop on a weekend
o Sober sister while on probation
o Workshops to inform the chapter

Academic Probation
• Member must attend all mandatory AOII functions
• Member is on social probation
• Member with a GPA below 2.5 is on 30 day probation, below a GPA of 2.0 is on semester probation

Man hours
• If a member violates the set man hours, then the following repercussions will be given:
o First offense: the member will receive a warning
o Second offense: man hour privileges will be revoked for one month
o Third offense: 30 day international probation with social probation, man hour privileges will be revoked for the entire probation period
o Fourth offense: 60 day international probation with social probation, man hour privileges will be revoked for the entire probation period
o Fifth offense: loss of man hours for remaining of the semester, if offense is at the end of the semester, it will continue into the following semester
• If a member has a man stay the night or break an excessive amount of man hours, the consequence will be worse

Procession of alcohol in the chapter house
• If a member stores or consumes alcohol in the chapter house, the first offense will resort in suspension of membership
• Room searches will be administered many times a semester by the Chapter President, Chapter Relations Chairman, House Manager, and a member of the Corporation Board

Possession of drugs in the chapter house or legally found breaking the law with possession of drugs
• Alpha Omicron Pi has a zero tolerance policy for illegal drugs, the first offense will result in suspension of membership

M.I.P & D.U.I
• M.I.P:
o First offense: Write a letter of reflection to the CR committee and attend an alcohol class/program through student service, social probation for 30 days or until alcohol class is completed (whichever is longer)
o Second offense: 60 day international probation with social probation
o Third offense: suspension of membership
• D.U.I:
o First offense: Write a letter of reflection to the CR committee and attend an alcohol class/program through student service, the member will be placed on a 90 day International Probation with Social Probation

Failure to complete house duty:
• First offense: a fine of $5 will be given
• Second offense: a fine of $5 will be given
• Third offense: a fine of $5 will be given
• Fourth offense: a fine of $5 will be given
• Fifth offense: a meeting will be held between the member in question, the CR committee, and the house manager
• Sixth offense: the member will be placed on 30 day social probation

Going on the roof:
• First offense: the member will meet with the CR committee to discuss the incident
• Second offense: the member will meet with the corporation board
• Third offense: suspension of membership

Giving out door codes:
• First offense: the member will have to pay the locksmith to come to the house and remove her door code. The member will be given a new door code
• Second offense: the member will have to pay to have the locksmith come to the house and remover he door code and she will NOT receive and new door code

Late Payment on Chapter Bills:
• One week late: Chapter Treasurer will meet with the member, they will have an opportunity to set up a payment plan, the chapter member must make three payments to be considered in good standing with the chapter, if the member does not stay current on the payment plan, the member will be placed on Social Probation
• 30 days late: Chapter Treasurer and CR committee will meet with the member and create a payment plan, the chapter member must make three payments to be considered in good standing with the chapter, if the member does not stay current on the payment plan, the member will be placed on Social Probation
• 60 days late: Chapter Treasurer and CR committee will meet with the member and create a payment plan, the member will be placed on international and social probation until half the amount owed is paid, once half of the amount owed is paid, the member will be considered in good standing
• 90 days late: Chapter Treasurer and CR committee will meet with the member and create a payment plan, the member will be placed on international and social probation until half the amount owed is paid, once half of the amount owed is paid, the member will be considered in good standing
